Fremantle Ports' Quay to Summer program of events won the City of Fremantle Leadership Award Destination Marketing Campaign at the Fremantle Business Awards on 7 June.
The 11th year of the awards, run by the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, were described by the judges as one of the most tightly fought contests the panel has seen.
The Quay to Summer campaign was held over the summer months of 2018-19 and began with Fremantle Ports Maritime Day on 27 October.
Taking advantage of the unique setting of the working port, four movie nights were held featuring a series of family friendly nautical movies, supplemented by food and beverage offerings from existing tenants.
School holiday workshops were conducted including learning to fish, visiting the WA Maritime Museum or getting creative with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.
Two food markets were held celebrating our multicultural heritage and a Portside Traders market incorporating craft, art, food farmers, plants, entertainment, and vintage goods was held.
The pop up 'Dock Bar' also returned to B Shed for the summer activation period.
Quay to Summer will return at the end of the year.
