Free parking on Victoria Quay for Australia II 40 Years On
Fremantle Ports will make parking free on Victoria Quay on Sunday 24 September, to coincide with the Australia II 40 Years On concert.
The Government-supported event, which will feature the Hoodoo Gurus, Baby Animals, Slim Jim and the Fatts Band, as well as WA’s Eurovision finalists Voyager, is expected to be the biggest held on Victoria Quay in years.
“Victoria Quay is an important part of Fremantle’s overall parking mix, but for this special event we’re going to help keep costs down for families,” said Manager Government and Public Relations, Neil Stanbury.
The event location is also easily walkable from both Fremantle Railway Station and the city centre.
The concert and drone show will celebrate four decades since Australia II won the America’s Cup from the New York Yacht Club, off Rhode Island, in 1983. The famous 12-metre class yacht is now a major attraction at the WA Maritime Museum on Victoria Quay.
