Most of Western Australia’s exports of manufactured goods and value-added food products pass through Fremantle Port, as do most of the consumer goods and motor vehicles that are imported by sea.
Total port trade through Fremantle Ports in 2015-16 was 34.91 million mass tonnes, with a total value of more than $26.1 billion.
Trade with East, South East and Southern Asia amounted to 62.3 per cent of total port trade, the Middle East trade accounted for 14.6 per cent and Australian coastal trade accounted for 12.6 per cent.
