​The total value of annual trade was more than $26 billion in 2015-16. 

With port facilities at Fremantle and Kwinana, Fremantle Ports operates Western Australia’s biggest and busiest general cargo port. Most of Western Australia’s exports of manufactured goods and value-added food products pass through Fremantle Port, as do most of the consumer goods and motor vehicles that are imported by sea.

 

In 2016-17 at Fremantle Port:

- total port trade was 35.31 million mass tonnes

- total value of trade was more than $26.0 billion

- trade with East, South East and Southern Asia amounted to 64.5 per cent of total port trade

- Middle East trade accounted for 13.1 per cent

- Australian coastal trade accounted for 9.6 per cent.
